Adversity is relative. Every single person experiences different levels of adversity at different stages of their life. For some, overcoming a presentation fear is beating adversity while others may face some of the hardest military training on earth and consider that adversity. Regardless, it should be welcomed.

When you are faced with adversity, especially as a leader, there are two options to choose from. 1. Crumble under the pressure of the unavoidable/challenge in front of you or 2. Face it head on, ask for help, tell yourself you can do it and regardless of the outcome, give it your all. Most leaders try to say that there is such thing as failure. My personal opinion, that is not the case. Failure really should be called "learning." All of the most successful humans alive have experienced tons of adversity and "learning" lessons during their journey.

When we as leaders look at adversity, we need to understand that the challenge ahead of us is an OPPORTUNITY to shine and show our best FOR those we are leading. Next time a challenge is presented to you, tackle it head on and remind yourself that no challenge is too large for you to handle and you are not alone. Leaders need other people too, it is never a one person show.
